These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply when you download or use Reela, the recipe app for iPhone, iPad and Android (the “App”). Reela is developed by Ilyas Abdulkadir (“we”, “us”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
1. What Reela does
Reela lets you save links to cooking videos and recipe pages and turns the text that comes with them (and, on Android, sometimes the video’s audio) into a recipe card you can read, scale, plan with and cook from. The App is free to download; some features need a Reela Pro subscription (see section 2). We may add, change or remove features over time.
2. Reela Pro subscriptions
Reela is free to download, and you can save a limited number of recipes for free. Reela Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks more features. The current plans, prices and any free trial are shown in the App before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account on iPhone and iPad, or to your Google Account through Google Play on Android, when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless you cancel it before the end of the current period. On iPhone and iPad, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before it ends.
- On iPhone and iPad, you can manage or cancel your subscription in your device’s Settings, under your name → Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play Store app and go to your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. If you cancel, you keep Reela Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then (on iPhone and iPad, at least 24 hours before). Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms. On iPhone and iPad, you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, you can request one through Google Play at play.google.com, under Google Play’s refund policy.
- If we change a price, you’ll be told in advance as Apple or Google requires, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- If Reela Pro ends, your saved recipes stay on your device and you can still read and cook from them. You won’t be able to save more than the free limit until you subscribe again.
3. Your recipes and other people’s content
The videos, captions and recipes you save are created by other people. Reela is a personal tool for keeping track of recipes you want to cook. It does not host, republish or share that content.
- You’re responsible for the links you save and for how you use the recipes.
- Saved recipes are for your personal, non-commercial use. Don’t use Reela to copy and republish other creators’ work.
- Each recipe keeps a link back to the original post so the creator stays credited.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App in a way that breaks the law or the terms of the services you save content from;
- try to reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the App or the services it connects to;
- use the App to collect content in bulk or for commercial purposes.
5. Nutrition, cooking and allergy information
Calories, macros and other nutrition figures in Reela are estimates calculated from standard ingredient data, or numbers provided by the original creator. They can be wrong and are not medical or dietary advice. Always check ingredients for allergens, follow food safety practices, and cook food to safe temperatures. Recipes come from third parties; we don’t test or guarantee them.
6. Translation and AI features
Reela can show recipes translated into your language, and it uses AI to write some recipe cards and titles (see the Privacy Policy). Translation and other automated features may produce mistakes, such as a wrong amount, unit or step. Check important details against the original post, which is always one tap away.
7. Other services
Reela connects to services such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and recipe websites to read the links you share. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We aren’t affiliated with them and aren’t responsible for their content or availability.
8. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Reela from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Your licence to use the App is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for handling claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, except where these Terms say otherwise.
9. Google Play
If you downloaded Reela from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play’s policies also apply to your download and purchases. These Terms are between you and us, not Google. Google is not responsible for the App or its content.
10. Intellectual property
The App, its design, code, name and logo belong to us. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App. They don’t give you any rights to our name, logo or trademarks.
11. No warranty
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that recipes, nutrition estimates or translations will be accurate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Ending use
You can stop using Reela at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or end access to the App if these Terms are broken.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the App or on this website. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
